DIFFERENCES
(with
the bits for hand drill) The conical threaded point of the F.E.D. bit is has a narrower pass and removes less shavings allowing a faster spinning and a better adjustment to the speed of the drill. It also enables the removal of the bit before finishing the hole. |
RECOMMENDATIONS
Use drills with reverse operation (the major bit heating occurs when it is removed in the same direction of advance).
Use the drill at an 90º angle.
Softly push the drill (it is enough for the tool to advance).
When working with hard woods (especially Hitin) it is advisable to remove the bit from the drill every 4-5 cm of perforation and submerge it in water mixed with oil (the water cools and the oil lubricates), then go on and repeat the same steps.
In order to maintain the polish, after each spell of work, clean the bit out of any remain of wood and lubricate it.
